Argentina $6300.00 USD
Saturday November 25th – Saturday December 2nd, 2017 – Taking Bookings Now
Join us for six days of fishing and seven nights of lodging at PRG’s Trevelin Lodge; one of the most prestigious fly fishing destinations in all of Patagonia.
PRG’s Trevelin Lodge programs are arguably the most sought after in all of Argentina. The area surrounding Trevelin and Esquel offers up over two-dozen rivers and some of the most diverse fishing in all of Argentina.
From temperate rainforest in Los Alerces National Park to the arid Patagonia steppe – all within striking distance of The Lodge at Trevelin – the area is a fly fisherman’s dream come true. Since the waters, fishing, and scenery are so distinct, we recommend trying our signature “fish a different river daily” program to make the most of the experience. Those that do will enjoy casting flies in every kind of water imaginable and catching a variety of strong wild trout. The area’s rivers boast rainbows, browns, brook trout, and landlocked salmon in their waters.
There is such a wide selection of large rivers, small rivers, spring creeks and lakes in the Trevelin area that anglers can choose to wade or float daily. Guests can also choose and enjoy as much or as little sight fishing, match the hatch dry fly fishing, terrestrial fishing, streamer fishing, and spot nymph fishing, as they wish.
Novice as well as the most seasoned anglers will take pleasure in the sophistication of our outfitting and the diversity of the fishing. Our talented guides specialize in fishing diverse waters and have the necessary flies and tackle required to change tactics daily, and since each professional guide has an assistant, walk-fishing guests will always enjoy a single guide.
PRG’s Lodge at Trevelin is located in the heart of one of the most spectacular mountain valleys in Patagonia. From the lodge, guests can find productive trout streams literally in every direction. We are certain that we offer the most diverse trout-fishing program in South America complemented with a spectacular lodge designed specifically for the purpose.
This trip requires that we arrive the Friday before the trip starts and stay a day after the trip ends. Flights to Buenos Aires from Australia generally arrive too late to catch the connecting internal flight in Argentina. As such we fly out a day early and stay in Buenos Aires overnight, before catching an early morning flight to Esquel.
Same goes for the flights out. We fly out at the end of the trip on the Saturday and then spend the night in Buenos Aires before catching the international flight back home on the Sunday.
To do this trip on the tightest turn around means flying out of Australia on Friday 24th November and returning from Buenos Aires on Sunday 3rd December arriving home on Monday 4th. This is 11 days in total including the two nights in BA and travel time.
PRG’s Lodge at Trevelin awaits guests’ return from daily adventures in the Esquel and Los Alerces National Park area. The lodge consists of 12 spacious, tastefully appointed bedrooms, each with private ensuite baths and all the comforts one would expect in a five-star facility.
The lodge has two full bars – one with a pool table and scotch bar complete with adjacent wine cellar and cigar humidor, and the second, which opens to a huge wraparound deck – both perfect for sipping cocktails, sharing stories and gazing at the spectacular 360-degree views of five surrounding mountain ranges.
The lodge also features two living/relaxing rooms and a central dining area with indoor parilla (barbeque grill) where gourmet meals and world famous Argentine asados (barbeques) are served by our professional kitchen staff. PRG’s Lodge at Trevelin always comes with complimentary private and individual rooms so a group of friends can individually enjoy a pleasant and restful night of sleep, and a little bit more space.
PRG offers an authentic Argentina flyfishing program, and the same is true with our approach to cuisine. Our professionally trained kitchen staff offers a unique blend of regional and gourmet to produce meals that showcase local organic fruits, meats, cheeses and vegetables (many grown in our own gardens). Guests enjoy Argentina’s superb beef and famous Patagonia lamb asados (barbeques) coupled with diverse menus featuring pork, chicken, fish and pasta.
Lunch and dinner are complemented by a rotating assortment of some of Argentina’s finest red and white wines so that guests can choose their favourite.

Additional costs not calculated in the above price come in the form of two nights of accommodation in Buenos Aires, as well as airport transfers, taxes, tips and meals. We arrange the accommodation/transfers for the group via our contacts on the ground in BA. Tips to the guides/lodge staff are also not included in the price and run between $750-900 p.p.
We have taken groups across to PRG’s Trevelin operation twice in the past three years, and all were, quite literally, ‘blown away’ by the package. Our good friends Travis and Rance at PRG really look after us and ensure that we have the best possible experience.
The fishing is simply outstanding and the lodge is superb in every way. Great food, a private bedroom for each participant and a fabulous bar area to hang-out, relax and play billiards or enjoy the company of the other guests come evening time.
